A600™ Series

Environmental Spill Control Polymer/Petrobond Selection Guide

The A600™ Series contain dry granular materials specifically designed to immobilize spills quickly, therefore reducing the environmental damage. Unlike absorbents that just soak up the liquid through expansion the A600™ Series bonds the spill for easy removal with minimal volumetric increase. This eliminates the dripping sponge effect and minimizes any residue. The A600™ Series is eco-friendly, has environmental protections and reduces flammability and smell.

The A600™ Series of bonding agents can be formulated to fit your specific needs. Formulas are available to clean up most liquid spills, from water to petroleum to hazardous chemicals.

The flexibility of pillows and socks allow them to be easily used anywhere a spill may occur, such as laboratories, service stations, fueling depots, and manufacturing departments. They can also be carried on vehicles such as bulk petroleum trucks, liquid transport trucks, and police, fire and HAZMAT vehicles.

A610™ Petro Bond

Technical Sheet | MSDS | Comparison Guide

Solidifies water-born petroleum based spills. A610™ PETRO BOND is an environmentally friendly petroleum bonding agent designed primarily for water-borne spills. Petroleum-based products include oils, fuels, solvents, paints, etc.

It is a dry granular material specifically designed to immobilize petroleum-based, (on water or land) liquid spills by coagulating and bonding the liquid.

Unlike absorbents that soak up the liquid through expansion A610™ bonds the liquid into a removable mass with minimal volumetric increase and retains the liquid for easier removal. This eliminates the dripping sponge effect by not allowing the liquid to be squeezed out and minimizes any residue or contamination. While bonding the petroleum-based spill, it does not pick up any water in the process. This allows A610™ to be used on land for preventative measures prior to a possible spill. For example, a trench around a petroleum storage area or under an in-ground tank could be filled with A610™ to prevent ground contamination in case of a leak. The application rate may vary with viscosity of the liquid being picked up. To fully solidify the liquid normally requires one (1) pound of A610™ to fifteen (15) pounds of spilled liquid. Test on small sample for predictable rate usage. Pick up ratio and speed of solidification will vary with type of liquid being bonded, amount of volatiles remaining, temperatures and the viscosity of the liquid. When most fuels are solidified they will pass TCLP testing and can be landfilled according to EPA guidelines or incinerated (all A600 series products are certified incinerable). Nochar’s A610™ has passed the Toxic Characteristics Leachate Procedure (TCLP) The test was conducted by a laboratory which is recognized by the Ohio EPA. Extreme caution must be exercised when handling, storing and disposing of solidified or gelled hazardous materials.

A620™ Carbond Filtration Media

Technical Sheet | MSDS | Comparison Guide

For Filtration of Hydrocarbons / Petroleum

A620™ CARBOND FILTRATION MEDIA is a more efficient answer to water filtration that incorporates both the advantages of bonding and adsorption. Carbond not only absorbs hydrocarbon contamination as carbon does, but also chemically bonds the hydrocarbon.

Carbond filtration media will remove hydrocarbons at an average efficiency ratio of 14:1 versus activated carbon filtration methods.

1) ABSORB: To take on by surface contact; wicking action. Materials that remove by adsorption take on liquid by surface contact with no transformation of the liquid.

Activated Carbon ABSORBS water and liquid contaminates onto it’s surface.

2) ABSORB: To transfer a liquid into a solid. To take in and make part of; to transform to another (different) form. To bond.

Carbond A620™ bonds or ABSORBS hydrocarbons and transforms the liquid into a solid.

***CARBOND A620™: Uses both processes of absorption and adsorption, this is the key to Carbond’s increased efficiency.
